Washing Tile Floors can be a nightmare

Who has tiled floors ? Hands up… over 90% of us have tiles of some sort in our homes. When it comes to washing tile floors we are flummoxed.  How many products are available that promise an easy way to clean grout on tile floors. Or tell you their product is an easy way to clean tile grout.  There are shelves of tile cleaners in Tescos & Sainsburys. Flash, Cillit Bang and the dirt is gone.. but it never is. Washing tile floors can be a nightmare, the black grout…. that black grout !!!

When i’m washing tile floors I feel im just moving the dirt around the floor. When i empty the bucket of soapy water and its black i’m delighted, the floor is clean. Then my floor dries, my grout dries back to black and the frustration is back. Then i’m back to Tescos to find a new product that will clean my bathroom floor grout.  In Monster News last week I covered a DIY way to clean your dirty grout click HERE to read the BLOG.  A few years ago I spent my entire weekend, doing just that. Baking Soda and Vinegar were mixed vigorously . My tiny little flat smelt of vinegar for a week afterwards. It worked, i ended up with a frozen shoulder, but my bathroom grout was clean.

Grout is a porous material. It absorbs everything and because its the stop gap in your tiles it catches all the dirt. When im washing tile floors i am washing the dirt back and forth, we all are!! Cue Christmas 2015 and husband purchased a Steam Cleaner for me as a Christmas Gift….. i know right. Anyway ill let that slide. However I was excited to see if it was the answer. Its not, its not the answer.  So i continued my search for the answer to what was the easy way to clean tile grout.

Then i found it. Joy of joys i have found an easy way to clean tile grout, and you can too.
